NFL Meetings FootballA day after Dante Stallworth essentially bought his freedom from a Florida court, Roger Goodell is taking away his livlihood.  It’s rare that you’ll see us agree with suspensions that Goodell lays out, but we have to side with the commish on this one.  His words were pretty strong and stern in a letter he sent to Stallworth:

The conduct reflected in your guilty plea resulted in the tragic loss of life and was inexcusable.  While the criminal justice system has determined the legal consequences of this incident, it is my responsibility as NFL commissioner to determine the appropriate league discipline for your actions, which have caused irreparable harm to the victim and his family, your club, your fellow players and the NFL.

He’s right.  We wonder how long indefinitely will turn out to be.
