Arianny CelestePoints of Interest is the daily link dump for your morning or afternoon commute in and out of Souvenir City.  We’ll be throwing together some other stops from out there in blogdome and the interwebs to peak your interest.  Some of them will actually be what some might consider educational.  Most of them, are going to everything but that.

It is upon us!  UFC 100, the Super Bowl of MMA is tomorrow and we are jacked for it.  We’ll be at the bar tomorrow night with some friends to watch it so it’s going to be rather quiet around here for you.  We’re waiting on a preview from glove but he’ll have it for you later today.  Ring girl Arianny Celeste for your enjoyment.

Woman on toilet accidently shot in leg.  Relations to Plaxico?……..So, Barry not so much pro-choice anymore.  According to his talks with the Pope.  Lip service?……..This is awful.  Family who adopted 12 kids, most with special needs, found slain in their home.  What the hell is wrong with people?……..HuffPo a partisan defender of the Obama White House? You decide……..Those crazy Germans.  German badgers that is.  Drunk in the street.

Joanna KrupaPoints of Interest is the daily link dump for your morning or afternoon commute in and out of Souvenir City.  We’ll be throwing together some other stops from out there in blogdome and the interwebs to peak your interest.  Some of them will actually be what some might consider educational.  Most of them, are going to everything but that.

We’ve still got more posts coming today but we wanted to get the afternoon linkage out to you before you left work.  Is it a slow week at the office?  We’ve noticed a significant decrease in people on blogs (not just ours).  We’re probably going to slow it down for the rest of the week with most people being off on Friday.  Most likely have some off-topic, non-sports posts on Friday.  Joanna Krupa just might be our Megan Fox.  Can’t get enough of her, so we’re posting her again.

If you’ve never seen Streetcar Named Desire, you should.  Karl Madlen won an academy award for it and unfortunately passed today at 97……..We might be accused of being Republicans from time to time.  But not with this one.  We agree that taxes need to be raised to combat the deficit……..Whoa.  TonySopranoCare?  That’s what they’re calling the Obama healthplan?  Wouldn’t go that far. But here’s a list of the top five promises that are broken with this plan……..Putin told his country to stop gambling an drinking today.  Just don’t stop producing vodka for the rest of the world please……..If you’re going to rob a gas station, make sure you don’t run out of gas on the getaway……..Internet filters in China now blocking pictures of Garfield the cat.  He’s so raunchy.  Gives Paris Hilton a run for her money.

Two links after the jump and more FAIL videos.  Oh, and a NSFW shot of Joanna Krupa.

Floyd Mayweather is a prickOk, the draft is over.  Hopefully that’s all the NBA posts until they resume the season in October or until the Magic trade Dwight Howard to the Lakers for Jack Nicholson.  Moving on to a sport we really enjoy but is dying other than a new video game release. Floyd Mayweather’s fight against Juan Manuel Marquez has been rescheduled for September 19th.  It was supposed to take place next month in Vegas but Mayweather had to withdraw due to injury (insert strained vag joke here).

Now, we actually want Mayweather to win this fight.  There’s not many more athletes that we dislike more than Floyd (T.O. is growing on us but still sucks, Favre, and Chad Johnson) but we want to see him hang on to that undefeated record until Pac-Man drops him like a sack of John Daly’s lipo’d fat.

This should actually be a very good fight though.  Marquez is widely viewed as the #2 pound for pound fighter in the world behind Manny Pacquiao and is a speed fighter similar to Floyd.  After the jump, how we hope the fight ends.

manny-pacquiao

UPDATE 6/5/09: Yeah. Just looked at this and saw that as of today, they revoked it. Then the Balita article was wrong and the link doesn’t even work anymore.

It’s not Pacquiao and Mayweather but we’ll take it.  This will likely get us one step closer to seeing a Pacquiao vs Mayweather bout should Manny knock out Sugar.  The fight was agreed upon today according to Brian Kenny on the 5 P.M. CST SportsCenter.  We watched Manny absolutely destroy Ricky Hatton and beat down an aging Oscar De La Hoya.  We also got a chance to see Mayweather fight both of those opponents as well.  Manny’s victories were a lot more impressive than Pretty Boy Floyd’s.

We enjoy the athlete smack talk just as much as the next but Mayweather’s borders slightly on that of Terrell Owens and that’s a line we would prefer not be crossed.  Here’s to hoping for a Pacquiao victory so that this end game fight can finally be set up.

More on the Mosley v. Pacquiao specifics after the jump.
