Points of Interest is the daily link dump for your morning or afternoon commute in and out of Souvenir City. We’ll be throwing together some other stops from out there in blogdome and the interwebs to peak your interest. Some of them will actually be what some might consider educational. Most of them, are going to everything but that.
As we’ve said earlier in the week, we have a strange meeting with the FBI this morning so we’ll be back for the live blog around 10 a.m. in the central time zone (barring any sort of interrogation, which we’re not totally convinced won’t happen yet). We’ve got two posts set to go up this morning for you. Our standard Touch ‘Em All to recap baseball and a look into athletes and their salaries. While we’re out, feel free to ask Marisa Miller any questions. Be polite, though. Otherwise we’ll come back and delete the classic picture after the jump. If there’s anything in particular you’d like to see in the live-blog, tell us at SouvenirCityBlog@gmail.com.
Normally we only include real news in this segment, but this is just funny. And strange….Not only was the guy that shot up the Holocaust Museum a psycho, but they find this disgusting crap on his computer……..We tend to lean left of center in the political spectrum but this is an area where we most certainly lean to the right……..A friend of the blog sent us this earlier and we hope he’s wrong about us possibly diving head first into another war…..But if they go through with this, then we’d be all for going in and taking a stand against North Korea….. Red Herring. Now that’s a term we haven’t heard since grade school. Here’s a few of them to watch out for in the economic rebound. That’s right! We said rebound!
- Marian Hossa should not have switched to the Yankees of hockey just to win a championship. Some people will never learn that being late to the party never works. REALLY FUNNY. (Food Court Lunch)
- A video of a pretty cool spinning baseball bat trick. We still can’t figure out if it’s real or how he does it. (Break via Hova)
- Father’s Day Cards: The Sports Edition. We really like the Mannings one. (Bleacher Report)
- Jonathan Papelbon continues to further his douche-ness. This time by suggesting he would not be opposed to pitching in New York (MLBTR)
- There might be a second winter classic in 2010? All in favor? Aye! (Fanhouse)
- We saw this massive glove on Waveland on Wednesday at the game. Somehow, Carlos Marmol got it inside the Friendly Confines. (Bleed Cubbie Blue)
- An epic choke job by the number one seed in Omaha. Good, they won the basketball title. Eff the Heels. (SI)
- This is like an wikipedia on the Lakers and the luxury tax issues they’ll face over the summer with Odom and Ariza (Forum Blue and Gold)
