Alyssa MilanoPoints of Interest is the daily link dump for your morning or afternoon commute in and out of Souvenir City.  We’ll be throwing together some other stops from out there in blogdome and the interwebs to peak your interest.  Some of them will actually be what some might consider educational.  Most of them, are going to everything but that.

Sadly, we don’t have a Big XII preview for you yet.  NickJ will be receiving 57 lashes for it (read: he has to work 12 hours today).  And, we’ve gotta drive some folks to the airport this morning so there’s no telling when Chicago traffic will put us back in front of the computer.  So, we’re bring in this post and two more for you to start the day.  Hopefully there’s a MLB Blockbuster out there for us to talk about.  Alyssa Milano in honor of her Tweeting us a link.  *fawns*

Man dies after falling into tank of chocolate. If you’re gonna go, that’s probably the best way……..British man receives inheritance, gets drunk and gives most of it away.  In an airport……..Greenpeace got ballsy.  They put a banner over Mt. Rushmore for global warming.  Freakin’ tree-huggin’ hippies……..And, the news wave of covering the Obama children on politcal issues officially begins.  Wake us when they can legally buy a pack of cigarettes……..We really don’t like posting from Slate, but this is.  The sequel to the $750 billion stimulus we already passed.

Grand Geneva Brute Golf

Info on the Track Available

NickJ here.  Golfing on a Tuesday is better than working on a Tuesday. One of the perks of working weekends in the hospitality industry is knowing that while you’re slicing tee shots into the trees on a Tuesday morning, all of your buddies are trapped in cubicles.  Well, not all of them…

SC is making the trip up to Grand Geneva to join me. We’re playing the Brute (subtle lead in from the title of this post), its over 7,000 yards, and makes me wish I didn’t break my driver last week. The course has been rigorous a test to one’s golf game since Robert Bruce Harris designed it for Hugh Hefner in the 60s.

Highlights after the jump.

Phil MickelsonFirst, his wife is diagnosed with breast cancer.  Then, yesterday, we learn that his mother also has it too?  What does this guy have to do to catch a break?  Just a sad, sad month for Phil Mickelson.  You gotta feel for this guy.  We honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he takes the remainder of the year off.

They say that the game can be a great escape for these guys.  But, could Phil really perform on the course with all of this hanging over his head?  And, if he can’t perform, would playing even be enjoyable for him?

Roger Federer Tiger WoodsTiger won again yesterday along with Federer.  We both think that eventually, Tiger will go down at the GOAT for his sport and Roger is already there.  However, we’d like to have a debate that actually has some ambiguity.  Which of the two will be looked at as the more dominant player?  Who struck more fear into the hearts of the competition when they stepped on the course or court?

Ok, so we didn’t do that many posts for you today.  We won’t lie.  We went drinking last night and we’re playing golf today.  However, we had an early tee time and we’ll be back today and PROMISE to get a POI for your afternoon departures.  Unlike yesterday where we totally biffed on it.  Here’s where we are at today:

Trevino GNTake a look.  The three courses are great.  We played Palmer’s a few weeks ago and failed to break 100.  Player was a tough course too.  We shot a 99 there.  Today’s goal is to shoot better than our 88 yesterday.  We doubt it happens.  Souvenir City will be back in full operation on Wednesday and we’ll resume our standard smarmy commenting over at The Big Lead and try to get as many “That’s a bannin'” comments as possible.

Enjoy folks.

This is our last automated post of the day.  If we missed any breaking news, we apologize.  Just take solace in the fact that we’re on this course and hopefully have lost less balls than we have pars.  Notice we didn’t say birdies.  Looking to keep it realistic at this point.

Points of Interest is going to be late this afternoon, but we’ll put it up.  If you’ve got suggestions on who you’d like to see as the POI girl, send them over to SouvenirCityBlog@gmail.com.

Grand Geneva - The Brute

Here’s the plug for the course. Blogging does have it’s perks.  We did get a gratis round for letting all of you know that we’re playing there today.  And we can attest, it’s a great course.  Now, if they can work on putting GPS on my ball and the cart, then we would play there everyday.

Keeley HazellPoints of Interest is the daily link dump for your morning or afternoon commute in and out of Souvenir City.  We’ll be throwing together some other stops from out there in blogdome and the interwebs to peak your interest.  Some of them will actually be what some might consider educational.  Most of them, are going to everything but that.

We’ve got the grill fired up for the final top at our current location and we’re getting set to watch the Cross-Town Classic.  If you noticed any spelling errors in today’s posts, it’s because we’re day drinking.  Andy Hutchins even caught us being stupid on the Twitter.  We really can’t think of anyone better than Keeley to send you into the weekend.  She’s English too, so that finishes our theme for the week.

Last MJ link for the day.  There’s a secret library of 100 songs that could be released soon. We know we’re buying that……..A nice little chart showing you fees by airlines. We haven’t flown since last August.  Conquering that fear shortly……..A stop in Dallas yields 100 pounds of pot in a casket. Nope, not Nate Newton.  New guy……..The Sun-Times continues to be the right leaning paper here in Chicago. But, there are some valid points here……..The House won their vote on the Global Warming bill. Move it on up the ladder now.  We still don’t think it passes.

After the jump, the child bicycle crashes compilation to send you off to the weekend.  Set to music from Roger Rabbit.
