We came across Peter Schrager’s list over at FOX Sports and one of our favorite discussion settings is ranking players, teams, coaches or anything in sports. Everyone has their own opinion on someone or something and lists are a great way to spark debate. So, we’ll give you the highlights of the list and link it after the jump. Make sure you read the qualifications for the rankings and comment on those as well.

Points of Interest is the daily link dump for your morning or afternoon commute in and out of Souvenir City. We’ll be throwing together some other stops from out there in blogdome and the interwebs to peak your interest. Some of them will actually be what some might consider educational. Most of them, are going to everything but that.
So, in our process of actually moving, we need to stash away some cash which is why we’re getting up at 5:00 a.m. tomorrow to do some work that doesn’t involve sitting on the couch and informing you people all day. Don’t get us wrong, we love you guys and hate manual labor. But, it’s just one day. So, tomorrow might be a little short. We’ll put together some posts to get you into the afternoon and should be back and strapped in around 5 p.m. Until then, let Brooklyn Decker take you through the night up to the start of the games (gallery link after the jump, damn you Andy Roddick)… Oh, and keep the tips coming to SouvenirCityBlog@gmail.com. We’ll be over at TBL tonight for the NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Game.
Slim Jims? In danger? No! It can’t be! Oh, there were three people hurt in the explosion too……This can’t be right. SF Gate, a left leaning paper is taking some shots at the press fawners for Obama. What is going on in this crazy, crazy world?!……North Korea announces that if push comes to shove, they’re not above nuclear annihilation. Didn’t we already solve this in the 1980s with Russia?…..Katie Couric is taking a BEATING on the nightly news ratings. Tough to compete with some established guys like Charlie Gibson and Brian Williams……We’re still fairly young (we like to think) and this is telling us that we’re going to have to carry $155,000 to get the country out of debt? You guys better start clicking on a LOT more ads….
- We’ve seen a lot of Pau Gasol photos around the interwebs over the past few days. Joe Sports Fan chronicles the lot and gives reasons why they’ve been plastered everywhere. (Joe Sports Fan)
- Rob Iracane over at Walkoff Walk gives you what to watch for in tonight’s MLB Draft. Assuming any of you are even watching it…if so, please don’t end up like the Kung Fu guy….too soon? (Walkoff Walk)
- Unicycle basketball. And there’s a video. Do you need anymore than that? (The Rookies Blog)
- Somehow, this headline got past the copy editors at Yahoo. We want to meet the fellow that posted it and shake his hand. And buy him a hooker. (The Sports Hernia)
- A profile on Tony Stewart who won last week in Pocono. If anything, just click through to see a picture of Smoke with a monkey. Monkeys are always good for click-thrus (All Left Turns)
- A list of the most over-hyped college athletes in the last 20 years. And, the discussion that followed. (The Big Lead)

So, it’s the end of the week and our first week of running this blog. We just want to thank anyone and everyone who has stopped by to read. Especially those commenters that have migrated over from TBL to make a comment here or there. We appreciate your patronage and hope you’ll keep coming back. Now, on to Eva Longoria and the weekend. We’re still considering the live blog for Sunday morning’s French Open but we’ll probably only post a few times this weekend. Back in full service on Monday at 8 a.m. EST.
Barry brought down the Berlin Wall! Wait, that was Reagan? Oh, well, he’s in Germany anyway……Unemployment is up, but you already knew that…….A feel-good-Friday story about drug addicts that are using sports to recover from their addictions…….Drinking to excess? Oh, wait, this is about banking? Ok…..

Randy Johnson’s Place in MLB History
Posted in Lists, MLB, Superstars, tagged Randy Johnson on June 5, 2009| Leave a Comment »
So, where does Randy Johnson fall in the rankings of all-time greatest pitchers ever? Despite the contempt we hold for a lot of tWWL’s employees, we enjoy the analysis and stat throwing of Tim Kurkjian. We also think he and NickP over at MLJ are related. He has Randy as the 11th best pitcher in the history of the game.
This could be (and we think, will be) the last 300 game winner ever in baseball. After the jump, we’ll run down the stats and see what kind of semblance we can make of The Unit’s place in the history books.
